Installation Instructions

  • Clean debris from and around the catch basin grate
  • Remove the catch basin grate
  • Install the filter insert across the top of the catch basin, centering the sediment catch bag in the open space
  • Replace the catch basin grate with the filter insert pinched between the metal grate and catch basin
  • Fold excess fabric over the grate and ensure that is does not cover the grate completely as it will impede water flowing into the catch basin. It may be necessary to cut excess fabric off to increase the water flow rate into the catch basin. 

Maintenance Frequency & Disposal

  • The filter should be replaced every 3 to 6 months under normal loading conditions
  • In areas where sediment collection is the greatest concern, the filter should be replaced when 6 inches of sediment has been accumulated
  • Regular inspections for any obstructions that may reduce the flow rates into the catch basin
  • The filter should be disposed of in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws
  • The user is solely responsible for inspection, maintenance and proper disposal of the insert filter. The manufacturer and seller assume no responsibility for the use, maintenance or disposal.
